The conference will be devoted to various aspects of developing speaking skills in the foreign language classroom, with a particular focus on the steps that can be taken to ensure that learners are able to use target language forms (i.e., grammatical, lexical, phonological, pragmatic) not only in various text-manipulation and text-creation activities but also automatize them to such an extent that they can be employed in a variety of communication-based tasks (Ellis, 1997). It will be organized by Faculty of Philology, State University of Applied Sciences, Konin, Poland, and the Department of English Studies, Faculty of Pedagogy and Fine Arts, Adam Mickiewicz University, Kalisz, Poland.
